Klassische Avantgarde und Historischer Experimentalfilm im Jubiläumsjahr des Kinos

,,Noch eine Retrospektive im Jubiläumsjahr``, werden einige meinen, doch dieser Rückblick auf ein Kino von ,Unten` ist anders konzipiert als ,normale` Retrospektiven: Die aktuellen Film- und Videoproduktionen des diesjährigen internationalen Programms treffen in gemeinsamen Präsentationen auf rund fünfzig Beispiele der Filmavantgarde und des klassischen Experimentalfilms. Dabei geben die aktuellen Arbeiten das ,Thema` vor, die historischen sind danach ausgesucht dieses zu ergänzen oder aber kontrapunktisch zu hinterfragen.

Die Auswahl deckt einen Zeitraum von ca. 70 Jahren ab, wobei die Auswahl von abstrakten, absoluten Filmen, die in der Tradition der Kubisten, Surrealisten und der Dadaisten stehen, über Frühwerke der Computerkunst bis zur Aktionskunst und Fluxus reicht.
