The MEDIA II support programme supporting the audio-visual industry in Europe,
from the European Community, will run until the year 2000. The total budget for
a five year period is some 590 million Marks.
The MEDIA II comprises three support areas:
- Training and further training (Management, New Technologies, Script writing
techniques).
- Development (Project development and company support for the areas of
fiction, creative documentary film, animation, CD-I, CD-ROM, etc. Productions
using archive material.)
- Distribution and Sales (Cinema, Television transmission, Global
distribution,) Film markets.
