Time winds up into infinity. An earth listener approaches winged creatures
beseeching them to share her indivisible energy. A stone butterfly with a
wounded wing flutters in endless circles.
The soul of this video is in the magic spell of the forest. It traces
mysterious messages hidden in trees, on and above the cliffs, and within their
lichen patterns. Weird creatures travel in dark rivers following the
borderlines of snow, water and ice. Some of Liisa Karnvonen's black and white
photographs and the details thereof appear in the video gliding over the images
like "passengers."
The cyclical approach of both image and sound offers the viewer the chance
to move unchallenged from one reality to another, freely floating in time.
The work uses multi-layered, strange atmospheric calls for signs etched in
time. It strives to attain a memory of cliffs, water and trees, and to
communicate with universal energy and time.
