Actions in Action
Actions in Action plunges into a world of frantic heroes trapped in a continual crisis of dissolution and reification. An ordinary demostic setting is recast as a psychoactive landscape in which the concept of ›function‹ becomes situational and fluid. Only through the strategic application of organic and inorganic devices can the mission be saved.
HalfLifers is an ongoing collaborative project created by artists and longtime friends Torsten Z. Burns and Anthony Discenza.
Torsten Z. Burns was born in Laguna Beach, CA, in 1968. He received his BFA in Studio Art from Alfred University in 1990 and an MFA in Performance & Video from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1993. Anthony Discenza was born in New Jersey in 1967 and received a BFA in Studio Art from Wesleyan University in 1990. Currently they reside as neighbors in West Oakland, California.
