Biografie:
Seine kurzen Arbeiten machen sich über alles lustig, von medizinischer Etikette (The Cough, A Scary Story) bis zu gängigen Binsenwahrheiten (Practice Makes Perfect, If Looks Could Kill, The Shot Heard Round the World) und die Beschaffenheit des Mediums (This Video No Good). In The Sound of Defiance wird eine ungeheure Studiokran-Aufnahme nicht nur durch einen einsilbigen Antiklimax eingefroren, sondern auch durch beharrliche Ironie. Teddy Dibbles Comic-Kurzfilme erinnern an die brillanten frühen Fernseharbeiten von Ernie Kovacs, in denen die dem Medium Video innewohnenden Eigenschaften für geschickte und abstoßende Effekte benutzt wurden.

His short works poke fun at everything from medical etiquette (The Cough, A Scary Story) to prevalent truisms (Practice Makes Perfect, If Looks Could Kill, The Shot Heard Round the World) to the nature of the medium (This Video No Good). In The Sound of Defiance a portentous studio crane shot is halted not only by a monosyllabic anti-climax but by a firmly planted tongue in cheek. Teddy Dibble's comic shorts are reminiscent of the brilliant early television work of Ernie Kovacs in which the intrinsic properties of the video medium are used to clever and outrageous effect.
