Biografie:
JAN VAN NUENEN: Vor fünf Jahren habe ich angefangen, audiovisuelles Design an der Kunstakademie St. Joost in Breda, Niederlande, zu studieren. Nach ein paar Experimenten mit Unterhaltungsfilmen und Stopmotion-Animation wurde digitale Manipulation von Bildern in meiner Arbeit immer wichtiger. In meiner Abschlussarbeit ›Optimizer Customizer‹ habe ich versucht, diese Techniken zu verbessern und sie in einer filmischen Struktur mit klaren Inhaltserklärungen zu stellen. Auf diese Art und Weise versuche ich, ein Gleichgewicht zwischen autonomer Videokunst und traditionellem Film herzustellen.
Biography:
JAN VAN NUENEN: Five years ago I started studying audio-visual design at art St. Joost academy in Breda, The Netherlands. After a couple of experiments with fiction films and stop-motion animation, digital image manipulation became more and more important in my work. The last two years I mostly spent my time combining existing video-samples, taken from crappy TV shows, trying to create new collage- like images. These videos are characterized by a complex game of loops, repetition and copys. In my graduate work ›Optimizer Customizer‹ I’ve tried to improve these techniques and place them in a more filmic structure with clear content statements. In this way, I try to find a balance between autonomic video art and more traditional film.
