›Jetsam‹ ist mein erster Film, in dem ich Photogramme verwende und Zeichen direkt auf den Film aufbringe. Es ist ein Film ohne Kamera, bei dem die Objekte (Maschendraht, Fibrefill, Salz, Papier, Stahlwolle, Kirschblüten, Schmiermittel und Spucke, Verpackungsmaterial, Teeblätter, Dichtungsringe und ein Abflussstopfen) direkt mit dem 16mm Film in Verbindung treten. Ich verwendete Digitaltechnologie nur minimal und versuchte, ein direktes Verständnis von Film zu erreichen. ›Jetsam‹ ist eine Hymne an das Alltägliche zur Musik der zeitgenössischen Avantgarde-Komponisten Martin Tétreault und Otomo Yoshihide, die mit der hi- und lo-fi Tongeneration experimentieren. ›Jetsam‹ is my first film to employ photograms and to apply marks directly onto film. It is a cameraless film in which objects such as: wire mesh, fibrefill, salt, paper, steel wool, cherry blossoms, grease and spit, bubble wrap, tea leaves, washer rings, and a drain stopper chain are exposed directly onto 16mm film. I utilized digital technology minimally and sought to understand film directly. ›Jetsam‹ is an exaltation of the everyday cut to the music of contemporary avant-garde composers Martin Tétreault and Otomo Yoshihide who experiment with the hi- and lo-fi generation of sound.
