Michael Wallins Decodings ist eine tief bewegende, allegorische Suche nach Identität in den Dokumenten der gemeinsamen Erinnerungen. Dazu benutzt er Bildmaterial aus den 40er und 50er Jahren... Die Suche nach dem Selbst endet in tiefer Bitterkeit mit dem Bild eines Jungen und seiner Mutter am Küchentisch, womit der Augenblick eingefangen wird, in dem Schmerz und Verlust ihren Anfang nehmen; der Wunsch legt sich schwer auf das, was lange zurückliegt.
