Routemaster ist ein rhythmisches Mosaik über Geschwindigkeit. Es ist eine Montage über die Rennwagen-Geschwindigkeit, eine Verschmelzung des Themas mit dem Filmmaterial, und es geht um die Verwendung menschlicher Kadaver in Crash-Tests. Der Soundtrack in Routemaster benutzt computer-manipulierte
Sounds einer elektronischen Violine, einen rhythmischen Impuls und Geräuschschleifen, um den Eindruck immer schnellerer Bewegung und Geschwindikgeit zu vermitteln.
Routemaster ist ein Film, der einer körperlichen Erfahrung nahekommt.
Alles, was am Ende bleibt, ist der schwarz-weiße Blitz der Geschwindigkeit, der kreisende Mosaikimpuls, die Einzelheiten der menschlichen Körper und der intensive Soundtrack.
Description:
Routemaster is a rhythmic mosaic about speed . It is a montage of racing car speed, a merging of the subject with the film material, and is also about the use of human cadavers in crash tests. Routemaster´s sound track uses computer-manipulated electric-violin sounds, a rhythmic pulse and noise loops to convey a sense of ever-faster motion and speed.
Routemaster is a film that resembles a physical experience.
In the end, all that is left is the black-and-white flash of speed, the gyrating pulse of the mosaic, the details of the human bodies and the intense soundtrack.
Ilppo Pohjola works as a filmmaker in Helsinki. He has studied at the Center for Advanced Film and Television Studies of the American Film Institute, LA, and at the Media Arts Department of Sheridan College, Toronto. He has graduated from the Faculty of Art, Design and Film of Harrow College of Higher Education, London, England in 1988.
