Beschreibung:
Der Film isat ursprünglich ein Dokument eines Charlemagne Palestine Piano Konzerts, auf Schwarz-Weiß Super-8 gefilmt, wobei der Ton auf minidisc aufgenommen wurde. Ich habe den Film dann entwickelt und die Musik Bild für Bild auf einem Steenbeck analysiert, dabei entwickelte ich ein Script für die Einzelbelichtung und schnitt anschließend den fertigen 16mm Farbfilm auf dem optischen Printer zusammen. Dieser Prozess dauerte etwa zwei Wochen. Die Idee, die dahinter steht, ist die Musik visuell zu repräsentieren, und zwar im visuellen Kontex der hinteren Hirnsphäre, genauso wie Charlemagne es mit seiner Musik macht (primär verminderte Quinten) in den Schläfenlappen, in dem er repetierte Disharmonien und Rhythmen spielt, ich hämmernde, flickernde Phaseneffekte benutzte, um sozusagen einen Orgasmus der Sehnerven zu kreieren.

The film was originally the document of a Charlemagne Palestine piano concert, shot black and white on super-8, the sound recorded on minidisc. I shot and developed the film, analyzed the music frame by frame on a Steenbeck, created a shooting script for the step printing, and created the finished color 16mm film on the optical printer. The process took about two weeks. The main idea is to represent music visually, to do in the occipital visual cortex, what Charlemagne was doing with his music (primarily diminished fifths) in the temporal lobes, using repeating discordant harmonics and rhythms, beating, and flicker and phase effects to create, one could say, an orgasm of the optic nerve.
