Identität=¯Das Gefühl, mit sich einig zu sein, oder auch, vollkommen in einer Rolle aufzugehen, die man in der Gemeinschaft zu spielen hat. Dieser Eindruck das bin ich selbst wird gestört durch Konflikte zwischen verschiedenen Strebungen oder in einer Umgebung, zu der man keine seelische Beziehung herstellen kann, so daß das Gefühl der Entfremdung entsteht. Immer wieder lehnt man sich durch Identifikation an andere an. Wir richten uns in unserem Urteil weitgehend nach Traditionen unserer Kultur, ja nach Vorstellungen einer bestimmten Gesellschaftsschicht. Diese Vorstellungen machen gerade jetzt einen großen Wandel durch.®

Description:
Identity: The feeling of being one with oneself or, to delve completely into the role allotted to one in life. This impression of myself is destroyed by conflicts between various strivings or in a surrounding, to which no spiritual contact can be made, so that a feeling of estrangement results. Every now and then we need to relate to one another through identification. We base our judgements largely on the tradition of our culture, depending on the evaluations of a particular strata of society. This evaluation is now in the process of making a big change.®
