Indem er Hollywoodfilme, Lehrfilme der 50er Jahre, private Filme und religiöse Filme aus der Kinogeschichte einsetzt, beschreibt der Filmemacher seine unangenehme Kindheitsbeziehung zu Jesus Christus. Die Entwicklung dieser Beziehung ist ein Ausgangspunkt für die Untersuchung der Wurzeln des christlichen Antisemitismus und des Bedarfs an spiritueller Heilung.
Description:
King of the Jews is a film about fear and transcendence. Utilizing Hollywood movies, 1950s educational films, personal home movies and religious films spanning the history of cinema, the filmmaker depicts his uneasy childhood relationship to Jesus Christ. The evolution of this relationship is a point of departure to examine the roots of Christian anti-Semitism and the need for spiritual healing.
