This year's Media Campus, a popular meeting place for young artists from international higher education institutions, presents a fresh, diverse programme. In two own exhibitions, six film programmes and lectures by three higher education institutions, Media Campus shows what young Media Art from 16 different countries currently represents. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to create mash up works in two workshops.

The "sound reflections" exhibition in the Turm Bürgergehorsam presents media installations that not only explore the perception of the individual but also invite individuals to utilise their sense organs in an atypical interconnected manner. Eyes and ears are put to the test in an unusual way.

The non-visual film calls for the viewer to see the film in complete darkness with their eyes closed and to listen to the sound. After all, our eye-lids let through sufficient light to make it a visual experience possible only with closed eyes.

Augen zu Basel
Switzerland 2009
This is a film in which the audience sees a guided tour of Basel, albeit only in a few images. The audience must rely on the signs and noises to be able to get an idea of Basel.

At the Stadtgaleriecafé, under the title "living entities", a mixture of installations will be presented that all, in their own way, reflect life, creating an arch between nature and culture. Individual installations call on visitors to establish close contact. Only then is the work of art complete.
In line with this context, a documentary by Mainz University of Applied Sciences on their project "Visualizing Europe" will be presented. In this project, data from the European statistics authority "Eurostat" is evaluated, enabling us to experience it in a more intuitive manner.
