"... and Harun Farocki’s image-critical debate" - Professor Dr. Ursula Frohne, Institute for History of Art of the University of Cologne
Ursula Frohne explores the functions, structures and effects of image communication in militant contexts and enquires about the fascination of the images of horror. Furthermore, she queries the artistic features of Harun Farocki via computer-generated images and his analysis of the rhetoric of the images of war. In so doing, answers to numerous questions are elaborated: Which reporting patters and routines become apparent? How has the function of images changed in the examination of war? What significance do the vidual media have within the belligerent strategies? Can communication and media ethics exist in the context of wars?
