The video programme starts with
La Eta Knabino by Samir, a digital fairy tale of human communication and understanding
among nations. This video is followed by
U. Man a High-End composition by Julien Dajez in a ›techno-clip-style‹. In
Matroos via colourful images full of symbolism and quotations Bavo Defurne tells the
story of a homoerotic relationship. One friend ventures on his first nautical trip whilst the other
is left behind waiting. In an artificial world two pairs of twins meet one another and the fulfillment of their dreams move within reach. At the EMAF No Sunshine by Björn Melhus received the German film critics´ prize for the best German experimental production of the year which ›uses the music video style and at the same time dismantles it with humor.‹ Richard Wright combines computer animation with play acting to question the virtual world of money power. Neyne saif dys by Hanna Kops questions the original function of the human body in a fictitious remembrance of the future before Internet originated. Images of a street recorded in the Rue Francis by Francois Vogel are swirling in time and space. In Actions in Action we observe the HalfLifers on their mission through the American everyday culture. In double speed Torsten Z. Burns and Anthony Diszenza struggle in the sterility of Californian suburban kitchens. Robert Mitchum by David Priestman is based on Hollywood cinema. A homage to the great actor or a bitter sweet pop video? At the end of the programme we undertake a - typically German - recovery journey to the Northern sea. It leads us to The Lighthouse of Passion by Nikolaus Buchholz where the landlady turns out to be a homicidal monster. |
